Are you coming to reunion? Can't make it, or know someone who can't
make it? Wondering how you can keep a tab on all of the action?
Check out the virtual reunion at:

It's a site, constructed by alumni volunteers, for alumni to capture
the "pulse" of reunion. We are collecting photos, videos, audio, and
writing of people on the ground and in cyberspace of reunion, and
posting them in one handy place -- in near real-time as the event
progresses.

Going to be in Yellow Springs? Contribute!
We will be collecting your media to post! We plan to wander the
crowd, asking for pictures, etc. to post and share. We also hope
to have a place you can bring your media, we'll quickly download
what you want to share, and post it. The more media, the more fun!
If you take your media generating seriously, and want to cover an
event, please let us know!
We're trying to get a head count to get an idea of what to expect.

Hello All,

A group of alumni are putting together a virtual reunion website,
where we hope to post a variety of community generated media during
the reunion event.
The website will be at:
virtual.antiochcollege.org
To get an idea of what we are planning, check out the concept document

Consider it a working document -- any ideas, and notes I get, are
being put there for teams of people to stay in sync. I'm trying to
keep the planning for the project moderated, yet as transparent as is
reasonable.

We're in up to our necks, and we need your help!
We need volunteers. Rolling this out is a ton of work. We need help
with getting the web back-end in shape, organizing people, coming up
with and implementing ideas, putting media on the web, setting up
equipment, testing, figuring out what else we need to do, collecting
media from people etc.

Call for ideas initial mass e-mailHello All, Speaking of volunteer opportunities, media and communities...
We have been asked to create a "virtual reunion website". In
short the idea is this:
To create a "Lifestream" website... where there will be nearly
live, real-time coverage of reunion, with media provided by the
community. Since this is reunion coverage, we plan to
post/stream/archive any pictures/media/sound/text anyone wants to
take or generate. This is nearly live, rough-cut stuff, so
Those not attending can watch live updates.

Right now, were looking for ideas and help. Soon we will also be
looking for people who will be at reunion who can help, and
contribute media.

The initial concept document describes what we want to do at a
minimum. Then look at some of the proposed ideas. If there is
stuff you would like to see, or think would be cool, let us know.

To make things largely transparent, we're capturing ideas on a
wiki. Most, if not all, of it is publically readable. It is a
working blackboard and notepad, so you should be able to watch
there as ideas get refined.
We've set up some mail drops for how to contribute. Check the
HowToHelp page, for instructions of where to e-mail your ideas
to. We will take the ideas, and add them to the wiki/todo
lists, and see if we can implement them.
We would also like to get a list of people who are interested in
helping, and contributing. In the short term, I'll add you to
the volunteer lists, and when we get mailing lists running, there
will probably be more information.
The main goal is to create a cool website and have fun. A
secondary goal, is to figure out how to organize, and show that a
volunteer project can do something cool, on a large scale.
Time is getting short. Please send us your ideas, let us know if
you can help, and bring your cameras, etc.
